hey, i'm having a bit of a problem with the 2.33ghz intel core 2 duo macbook pro. when i hit the power button it starts up for about 2 seconds then shuts itself off. i hit the button again and it does the same thing. i press and hold the button for a few seconds while it starts and when i let go it shuts off again. i gotta keep doing it until the f*cker turns itself on. any ideas or quick fixes? also parallels crushed my system last week when it started up and somehow wiped osx from the computer so i had to re-image this bitch. i think microsoft is trying to get back at apple. anything?

Well I'll be... the other battery worked fine. So I put back in the old battery and it started right up.... twice in a row. What the hell does taking the battery out and putting it back in fix?!?

My ....ahem.... IBM thinkpad...from work here ... once every 3 months or so the power completely cuts off... Doesn't show a battery light or anything even when plugged in. Like the thing looks dead. So I take out the battery and reseat it and it starts back up. Dumbest thing ever... I am waiting for the thing to completely crap... Make sure you have backups... :-)

Hey Kona....I had the same problem with my MBP shutting off after two seconds...what fixed it for me was doing a software update...the newest one had "Battery Update 1.3" in it and that fixed my issues...read over this especially the section of "When will the battery be updated?"
