Heavy.com is currently seeking a web developer with 4+ years of experience who will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of Heavy.com.

The web developer works along with the team of designers, project managers, writers, art directors, as well as IT and hosting professionals to turn creative ideas into a cutting edge and flawlessly functional site.

Candidates should possess a strong technical background with proficiency in programming Actionscript (1.0, 2.0), PHP, Javascript, HTML (XHTML), XML, CSS and MySQL databases.

Developers should have a thorough understanding of the Apache webserver and Linux operating system in a multiserver load balanced environment, as well as familiarity working through shell access.

The ideal candidate has a comprehensive analytical approach coupled with the technical skills to isolate and solve web application issues, implement websites to support a number of browsers on both Mac and PC, IE 4+, Gecko and Safari (KHTML) etc, while following W3 standards for XHTML and CSS.

Developers should have working experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and must demonstrate high competency using Macromedia Flash MX version 6 and later.

A developer must have the ability to follow specifications as outlined within a project’s functional and technical requirements in order to make the site fully functional using all necessary technologies.

The ideal candidate’s technical experience is complimented by a naturally meticulous attention to detail and an intuitive understanding of the overall vision and functionality of the site.
