Either I had overlooked this or it has recently launched but Stefan Nadelman of Tourist Pictures launches “One Step Ahead”.

It was created using still photographs stitched together and animated in After Effects. Stefan completed it in the space of three weeks during a brutal cold snap beginning in late January of 2004 which explains why all of the characters are bundled up.
