I went to a crap school, and I'm currently working at one of the better firms in the midwest. I guess in GT's world that would be impossible?

they called me and said, "we would like to offer you the position". they also explained, "the salary range is 55-60k". i think i have it. ha
- GT_10
lol, you don't even have the job yet! You pretentious wank!
- gramme0
you'll want an official offer letter from them, if only for your own peace of mind.
- studderine0
oh i know. they are sending the contract out this week.

(Nov 14 07, 18:05)dude, nothing is official until you sign a paper.
make sure you include moving cost and signing bonus.
also, when you get cash bonus, its always taxed.
- studderine0
oh wait..they were talking about the job responsibilities and i didn't understand half of them...damn you arizona state!
- gramme0
I've never signed any contract for any job. There's such a thing as "at will" employment.

gramme... that is same as me only out west. who knows if GT_1 is really that hotshot Joseph K - who does happen to do some truly amazing video direction and motion work... however if he is, being a hotshot designer / director doesn't mean you're great human being, just means you're good at what you do, and all that is left is a dick for a personality with monstrous ego.
but then again i may be way off the mark

true, ha i am just so excited. i am quite green as you can all tell.

You don't hire a $60k a year employee by email. You do not have the job yet. Expect to have to fly to Chicago, probably on your own dime, and compete with other candidates, if you want this job.
- MrDinky0
I'd hire MrDinky, just because.

a designer is "what you do" NOT "who you are" as a person, or whatever your profession may be
