"the driving force in web design"
haha, it's true. I'm pretty sure they advise W3 on all there initiatives

aside from all the marketing banter, I agree most clients will love it because they don't know sh*t...
I personally like the clean style better, but thats because I can read everything.
perhaps you can find a blend of the two and produce a "clean/design" style? perhaps as a third option?

Hmm, harlequino's right - i think some people here are being just a touch mean, unnecessarily (says the black hypocritical pot to his kettle chums).
What struck me is that, in opposition to many other web portfolio sites out there, yours actually seems quite comprehensive - I actually quite like the slideshow thing - and I suspect your clients would be quite impressed by it too. I like the deep red colour.. what? where did the bloody red go?! Have you just changed it whilst I've been writing this?! ffs. What I was going to say is that I think you have a bit too much flourish in there - which is particularly dangerous given the already giddy mix of sans and serif fonts.
I hate your logo - it's naff. Sorry. It also undermines your neo-classical flourish. or is that the other way around? Either way, they don't work together.
Drop the flourish shadows (ESPECIALLY on this new white version - they look awful)
Oh. I've just realised I can click 'designer' and get the red version back. Much better. That white one treads the wrong side of minimalism and contrast. I wouldn't bother with that 'feature' - a designer who can't decide on his own colour scheme isn't a good thing, imo (unless you really go for it and have loads of relevant colour choices in, of course).
You need to rework your navigation - there is no logical flow - you have three top-tier navs - have you considered merging 'about us/ rfp etc' and 'support, client tools, etc'? Secondary nav in the portfolio section should also be more prominent - perhaps before the thumbs?
All in all - as others have said, it's a really good start - I think you just need to tone it down a little and think about your navigation from your user's perspective.
Good luck!

It's chock full of bullshit marketing gobbledegook.
Give it to me straight - don't bullshit me.

I find it a bit distracting with all flourishes and extra bits that are floating around.
Too much going on ~ I dont know where to look.
Dont make me think?

Another thought -
Are you primarily a creative shop that does some SEO, or an SEO? Marketing co. that offers creative. Huge difference.
You may want to rethink your organization. Clients mainly looking for SEO and stuff want that marketing gobbledegook like a junkie needs junk, whereas people seeking creative services need the portfolio and visual pizazz or minimalism (take your pick) up front.
So perhaps you need to think priorities and business services first.

I find it too stiff and hard, needs something to soften it up. Also as mentioned the background is too much. When I scale the window down so that I cannot see so much background it is improved a fair bit. Also I think it is lacking structurally, i'm not sure where to look or go to first. While I suppose your flash box takes care of some of that.

Is it not possible to have an seo and design mixed site?

(Nov 9 07, 12:12)It's not that it's not possible, but it's like making a vinagrette. You gotta keep on top of how it's mixed and what the priority is, cuz those ingredients are going to separate and not got along.
Allright, not a great metaphor, but what I'm saying is that I've worked on both sides. And the clients for both, on their own anyhow, tend to look at very different things. I'm not saying there's some magic bullet solution, but just keep that in mind. It's a very difficult mix. Most SEO people I've know could care less about creative. It's all offer, keywords, rankings, etc. Creative people frequently don't even know what the hell SEO is.

Not a bad start but it's a little overpowering.
Sometimes less is more.
I actually enjoyed the white version better.
