I put this in the PBS a few days ago and have gotten a little feedback that some type is unreadable. I was hoping that people could tell me what was wrong with the type and where the problems were.

Thanks for any help you could provide.

I'm not sure I like the way you tweaked the serif font on the landing page. I can kind of see what you were aiming for but as is I think it looks like a mistake. Once you get inside the site, yes some of the body text for instance in the press section is a couple sizes too small to be comfortably readable.
Overall, nice site though.

Yeah, the text in the sections 'after the second load' is a wee bit too small - i can read it, but it's an effort.
* Serifed excerpt text and animated 'halloween' descriptors.

Thanks guys. That's what I was afraid of.

Ok, I bumped all the scrollable text up a point. Think it's more legible now? Thanks again, guys.

Hmm, tbh, it doesn't look any bigger to me..

the type is way too small and it takes too long to get to the navigation. I know you're going for ambiance but it interferes with the purpose of the website.

yea i like the site. from my perspective, flash is crazy weird/hard...so you did a good job.

try clearing your cache, detritus. Lloyd, that was the clients' decision and my hands were tied, but i definitely agree. Thanks, Studderine, i appreciate your kind words.

Have you tried setting the type for readability? or does it need to be flash 7? I think you'll always struggle with a rendered version of that typeface... will look slightly muddy even a few sizes up as it is so narrow in places

scrollbars are so thin (I've been guilty of that many times as well), I'd think of increasing the clickable area mapping there 100% to the left and right

thanks, mime and raf. will look into the fonts and scrollbars. mime, if it's going to always be muddy, i may just change the face. good point, though.
raf, i'll stretch em. thanks.

I'm not sure Georgia is suitable at that size and contrast.
other than that. nice!

thanks for the kind words, geralddean. Lloyd, the introduction time has been cut in half, per your recommendation and second by the client. take a look and let me know if you think it's better.

If I mute something that I didn't want to load and listen to in the first place, I expect it to go off straight away - I get actually quite angry when it doesn't. You could make the music player functionality a little more obvious too. Also, your pixel font here has shifted and is fuzzy.
The fonts are still too wee for my liking - and I really don't understand what's going on with the word spacing on your 'halloween' font - those gaps are almost as big as the words! Essentially these texts are introductions to each content section - so why are they so tiny? If they're going to disappear anyway, why not make them much bigger - actually a component form of the background graphic? I'd much rather see that than the off-the-shelf 'blow around' effect, the relevance of which I'm struggling to see.
Again, serifed content text is readable, but too small and heavily aliased (because of its smallness).
I really like the graphic/animation work you've done - I just feel that the content aspect has been a secondary concern - just plonked-in. As pretty as it all is - ultimately, it's got to be easy for your punters to use.
And what IS the name of the 'Halloween' font? It's driving me nuts! I used to have it, but can't find it on my system anywhere - not important.. I'm just wondering! :)
Good luck.
