While looking for a way to manage my bookmarks across plattforms and browsers i found this list.
http://www.feedbus.com/bookmarks…
does anyone of you know/use any of those tools?
What would you recommend?
How do you manage your bookmarks?i need to
- have a hierarchical structure on my bookmarks.
- access and upload new bookmarks from mac and pc, safari and firefox
- be able to keep bookmarks private
(- download complete collection in different formats would be cool too)

why not put them online?

i am not quite sure if you can organize your bookmarks well on del.icio.us, can you?
or are they only sorted via tags?i have severall hundred bookmarks hierarchically sorted in firefox, it would be cool if i could keep the same sorting.

it creates tags based on your hierarchal structure.
You have the option of making it private or not.

Is there a solution you can host on your own server? (php/xml)
I'd be interested in the same solution as meisterschueler, but I'm wary about having the lifeblood of my internet life hosted by a third-party such as del.icio.us.

del.icio.us is quite what i am looking for, except that you only can use tags and no hierarchy.

You can do hierarchy with delicious, it is not immediately apparent with tags but you can create groups and sub groups and have specific tags filed under them.

hijack...
is there any way to import bookmarks onto delicious, or do i gotta go through and add one at a time?

horton: import and export work fine for several browsers.
ok i knew there are bundles, but how do you make subgroups?

yeah sure i can export my bookmarks from safari but is there any way to then import/post them all to my delicious?
- meisterschueler0
yes, and it changes your folders to tags.

(Nov 5 07, 09:52)Yes. In delicious go to your "Settings" and then "Bookmarks: import/upload" They have instructions there to help you.
