Hello.
I am working on an identity project for a media company & am looking for a clean & contemporary sans serif font family that has multiple widths weights.
I have been looking at fonts such as Verlag & Knockout (from the Hoefler & Frére Jones Foundry) & Apex (from the Village Foundry) but do not feel that these arequite right as I am looking for something distinctive to work with.
Would any of you have any suggestions for me?
'Twould be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Clean but distinctive?
I like Process Type Foundry's work:

Klavika:

Stratum 1 and 2

By Jove, I think you may be on to something there...
I particularly like LOCATOR, STRATUM & KLAVIKA... will be making the client buy the font family for themselves... AND FOR ME!!!
Thanks!

I like klavika lowercase a lot, but in all caps it looks kind of awkward to me

don't use Apex. I don't think it's well-drawn.
I second Fedra as a good choice, as well as those mentioned from Process. Also from Process, new and nice (imho):

And then of course there's Gotham, which I think is one of the best sans faces ever:

The only downside of Gotham is that like other geometric/grotesques, it lacks oldstyle figures. This shouldn't be a big deal unless you're typesetting financials or something siimilar, in which case a humanist sans w/ oldstyle figures might pair well w/ Gotham, such as Whitney (below).

Also check out Leitura from Dino dos Santos:

Another good sans, Mohawk paper uses it to great effect:

Many thanks for all of your suggestions, folks... I have a few favourites amongst them & will just have to make a call...
Enjoy the weekend; I'm off to the pub!
