Anybody going?
Is this NFL business catching on at all with the Brits, or anyone outside the US?
- detritus0
Nope, not really.
There are enough fans over here to justify the occasional special match, testimonial or whatever, but there's no mass interest at all.
We already have football and rugby to fill that particular void in people's lives.

I've heard that the germans like american football. probably because the goal is to march down the field.

"There's a great deal of interest in holding a Super Bowl in London" is bullshit - there may be some interest by the money men, but that's it.

the sports that europeans are interested in involve normal-sized humans. americans prefer freakishly muscled or tall athletes.

Yo!
The most popular athlete in the US, right now, is Tiger Woods. And he's pretty normal-sized.
Last I looked, the sports that are really popular in Europe involve imported South Americans.

The Giants vs Dolphins game for this weekend sold out pretty quick in London.

Believe me, Americans wouldn't be too thrilled about that either.

I just wonder why they chose the Giants and Dolphins? The Dolphins are by far the worst team in the NFL. They should have chosen another game that would have been a bit more fun to watch...

i dunno,
a rugby game is far more intersting
and if we wanna see show-offs, starstruck sportsmen and faked injuries we just watch Chelsea vs. Porto

(Oct 22 07, 18:28)Oddly ironic, considering how thanks to lifestyle trends Americans are shrinking and Europeans, especially those nordic ones, are growing freakishly large...

Oh yeah...Go Giants!!
- Point50
gotta be awesome playing sports in bog conditions over there.

Wembley's turf was not made for american football. What a sloppy game.
Go Giants.

----------------mashed to bits? do you know why NFL players wear pads? so they're not going home in stretchers.
- chossy0
Not really we have plenty american football teams but people think it's shite as the game stops every two seconds.
