i'm not got at those.
Ok let's summarize this thread:
1. You should ask for the pay you think you deserve (yeah, big deal, they're all falling for that one)
2. housing sucks
3. Witt, a formerly ignored funny dude, is in reality a narcissistic scumbag and a loser and has by now lost it completely. You must ignore his posts.
4. Hillary will win, but the world rests the same.
5. Witt moves to Canada.
6. Jaline kicks Witt out of Canada because he didn't praise maple-juice.
7. The world changes, but not even the world notices the change.

Anyway, before we go further - i think the Arctic and the Antarctic belong to all of us. No one should be allowed out there.
I hear rumours the US are patrolling the place; Canada too; Russians also... Down below it's the brits.
Well all of this saddens me.
Seems like global warming just turned into a political excuse to claim former international areas. That is shameful.

well I guess it's not easy anywhere, except Switzerland. Or Anchorage wtf!
- Witt0
yeah i guess it's hard to pay for all the warfare (not joking, it's must be really expensive). It's also an unending cycle of want-spend, but you can't feed and warm 500 million people on pan pipes and dreams.
anyway... on the other hand fuel in the US is very cheap comparing with EU standards.
Fuel is Portugal is the enemy! the big evil. for a reason. most families spend 10% of their pay just to get to work. That's a lot.

most people i assume pay 33.3% taxes but freelancers have to pad their taxes with extra to be safe. i liketo get money back at the end of the year instead of struggling to pay taxes so the Martians in outer space can play Mini Golf!!
- ukit0
That a good question, Witt. I don't pay 40%, more like 30%, but I sure as hell can't think of a single think I get back from what I pay. Public transportation I guess but even for that you have to pay $1.25 in some parts of the city where I live even though it's ostensibly government-subsidized.
Makes you want to go out and join the libertarian party haha
- edd-e0
i freelance, and no vacations... so thats why i also pay 40% to be clear.
but for fulltimers i guess it is 35% for that high rate income bracket.
either way in the US the taxes are slaughter.

40% tax in the americas is crazy! where does all that money go? I hope most of it is spent on Mars :)

So you get 2 months paid vacation/ year?! That would be nice...
ukit
(Oct 19 07, 16:28)yeah, we do (1 vac + 1 xmas bonus). but it's not so great as it looks: it's usually regarded as a bonus to pay for insurances+xmas+vacs. Housing is very expensive here relatively to your income, usually between 25%-40%.
It's not that great.
We spend a lot on gas/fuel since we import most of it.
- ukit0
Super rich as in e-pill, haha
- Witt0
andy clearly you dont live in nyc. or pay nyc taxes.
i pay 40%.
edd-e
(Oct 19 07, 16:26)yeah, i hear your house fares are way over the top. but otherwise you have everything for a less than fair price.
- ukit0
40% is only for the super rich I think. So you get 2 months paid vacation/ year?! That would be nice...
