Deb: "If dad taught us one thing it's the value of human life."
Dex: [thinking] "Yeah, but I think we had different homework assignments".
hahaha
I like how Dex wears khakis and a pink shirt.

Just finished watching....and...
DAMN, that was good TV.
The acting is superb. While I don't think his sponsor delivers all the time when it comes to the acting, it's still pretty decent. Michael C. Hall makes it so much better.
I think Dexter will find out about the surveillance and the whole episode will have to do with him trying to destroy the tapes, or someone will ask why he was there and he will have to explain himself. Either way, Deb likes Dex and their boss on the case likes Deb, so I don't think anything bad is going to happen to Dex yet (in terms of his butchery). Nothing will really happen until the end of the season or later anyway.

Great show. When I first heard about the premise I was somewhat skeptical but Michael C. Hall totally makes it work.
And I kinda like the sponsor, but there's something going on there. I don't think she's what she appears to be.

I loved the premise before I saw the first episode. Forensic science + crime + murders = w00t

Add blood + good actors + psychology

Yeah but serial killer as a good guy it could have easily been really really bad with the wrong actor. But as it is they pull it off quite well.

I never really observed Michael C. Hall in "Six Feet Under" but he has an impressive resume.

"Sunday's installment of Dexter was the most-watched episode of a Showtime series ever. It drew 1.23 million viewers at 9 pm/ET and a total of 1.63 million when you add in its 11 pm broadcast. It was also up a whopping 41 percent from the previous week. Dag, can you imagine the numbers it's gonna get when Dex is forced to kill his psycho girlfriend Lila? ('Cause you just know he's gonna have to.)"

wow... this show blows my mind... that's all I can say about it now. I'm not going to bother trying figure out what the writers are moving toward... cuz they keep twisting things far beyond what I've been expecting...
... fantastic writing and acting... two thumbs up!!
B.S.E.!!!

Kill Doakes, then Lila, then Lundy.
- PonyBoy0
Doakes has a mean-streak to him... I wonder if Dex can get in his head while he's caged up... Dexter (our super hero) needs someone... a confidant who knows who he is... and has his back - kind of like Harry was at the beginning... I could see Doakes giving in to this 'idea' in time... given his own personal history...
... woops... there I go again trying to figure out what's really going on. :)

Dexter did fuck up a bit though ... its real subtle but when the feds come to take him to the station right after he discovers that someone got to his slides of blood,
he tells Deb that he is 'sorry' a couple of times thinking that it was the feds that found his slides of blood and that he was busted
- PonyBoy0
^^agreed... and how about the fish-eye camera shots on Dex during those few moments...
... totally made me feel like I do when I'm nervous... everything gets big... round... overwhelming and out of focus...
... really well done. :)

Dex is totally losing it, but some things are kind of working out. In the sense that there are ways Dex could still come out of this without people finding out who he really is.
With Doakes, he could find some elaborate way to give him to Lundy or just kill him off. I don't think Dex wants to kill him, since Harry wouldn't have approved fully (although the number one rule of protecting oneself probably beats all the other rules), but he's being a huge pain. He's going to have to get back home in a hurry, but what about the bullet? I suppose he could take it out himself, probably having experience with being injured sometimes during a kill (I'm guessing).
Lundy doesn't bother me too much, but he's smart enough to find out the truth. Although, if they catch Doakes and he tells them about Dex, I'm sure some of the people in the force will be somewhat suspicious about Dex (like maybe Laguerta, who likes both men but has known Doakes for a long time).
I agree with dsntos about the order that Dex should kill people in. (1) Doakes, (2) Lila, (3) Lundy. However, I wouldn't mind if he killed Lila first and then Doakes, or if he turned Doakes in (could be risky though). Lundy is further away.
On a side note, I've liked Rita since the beginning and I still think she allows Dex to have some of the things he needs in his life (no matter how much he claims he doesn't care about the family).
