looking to book somewhere over xmas. thinking mammoth as it's the closest decent mountain to LA. would it be better to go a little farther north to one of the tahoe areas, like northstar or squaw? any recommendations? i've only been to heavenly and that was 10 years ago.

right now it's 63°F here in phoenix... I'm still in shorts/t-shirt and flip-flops... I had to borrow a pullover from cosmo last night cuz it got down to the low 50's. tehehe...
... in one week I'll be living in Chicago... where right now it is 30°F... i think it snowed there yesterday?...
... what have I done?!!!
:D hehe... I'm actually looking forward to some seasons again - I miss the snow... and I'll be living in the city anyway... can't exactly go hop on a chairlift and go boarding anytime I please though... I don't even know if I remember how to ski/snowboard. :((
