I've created a thumbnail gallery with text below an image. The 'a' tag is a surrounded by a 'span' with display:block or float:left to center and force the height/width style. In ie7 this disables the hyperlink, work fine in firefox....sending me doolally..has anyone come accross this before?

I don't have IE so I can't test or even see the problem, but you've got both the LI and the thbimgspan class floating left. Since the list items are being displayed inline, try removing the float property from both, or at least thbimgspan. The min-width property seems a bit redundant as well.
Don't know if that'll help, but that's where I'd start. Good luck!

the display: block or float: left are to control the width & height of the span as the images won't be formatted to the right size or proportions
safari - haven't started formatting for that yet and god does it look a mess - some work to do there me thinks
