hey all. am looking for guidance to the best books or tutorials online, but written in a way that us bloody visual/designer types can understand!
ive heard that ActionScript for Flash MX: The Definitive Guide is a good one.

Yeah its a good one, lots in there. However being a designer type myself with a little knowledge of flash I find it pretty impenetrable at times.
Its my only flash book and at times makes me cry a little. So I'd be into other suggestions too!

Fairly old but I'll respond anyway. I have the MX book and it's actually a very good reference book. It looks like a Cambridge or Oxford book but everything is explained quite clearly in the linquistical AS form. Otherwise, the publisher Friends of Ed is a good start.

good resource is the flash-help itself (hit F1 in flash)
and http://www.friendsofed.com/catal… has great books about flash.
