Hey guys i need some help.
I have around 200 PDFs that i need to rasterize into jpgs. My problem is that there appears to be a glitch in photoshop CS2 that prevents me from doing this as a batch operation.
Anyone know a utility that will help me out? i seriously dread the thought of having to open each one...
help?

What's the PS glitch?
- doesnotexist0
what, it'd take you like...a half an hr or so?
Get to work!

side note said in a whisper:
what is this ps glitch?!

it crashes when you open pdfs at the default settings. they did not fix this in cs3 either i have learned first hand. try changing the resolution when the dialog box comes up on opening and it should open fine. not sure if you could batch this or not though.

is there a way to batch each pdf onto an indesign page then export each as a jpg???

ok, you need a copy of fireworks, but if you open a multipage pdf with it it will assign each page to a frame. you can then export it and under the options do frames to files and that will do it.

CRAP!
thanks guys... i don't have FW though...
I just DL'd CS3 in hope that that would fix it... i can't believe this...
oh, and they are big, so they are taking 4 min each to rasterize... so, yeah.. ugg...

can you use Image Ready and create a droplet on your desktop to just convert all to JPGs as needed batch or 2 per shot??
since you havein g PS Glitches...try it.
and you cant say you dont have as Image Ready comes with your pShop.

Sorry, i should have been clearer...
it's actually some kind of bug in the way the scripting works. it remembers the file name you used to create the action, and continually gets caught in a loop and only opens *that* file... over and over and over again.
i'll take a look, but i think IR shares the APIs for scripting ... and jd was right.. CS3 still has the same stupid problem.

Acrobat will let you create a new file from multiple documents, and I believe if you export from this new document you'll get a JPG for each page. I don't know how good they'll look, though.

Automator and Preview on OSX?
iView MediaPro will do this under Action > 'Convert Image files' (get the free demo)

just download the 30 day fireworks demo. the more i am using it, the more i am surprised by how versatile a program it is.

Thanks john, i actually ended up creating an action in Illy which worked out pretty well.. not as precise as photoshop, but got the job done :)

Acrobat will let you save as JPEG, it'll give you an image for each page. You can specify the resolution and color space.
