http://www.apartmentsinbarcelona… - strange site on the mac, but don't let this put you away, call them, don't believe online availability. This is the best place ever, they buy whole old buildings and convert them. My pref. is apt Corders, top floor with balcony, but it is a double only.

It's for 4 people, but I think Monica, the owner, can organize extra mattresses. She's French Canadian, arguably the cutest and nicest Canadian ever (after Jaline, of course). She's a designer and invited us to a party at her place, so we could get a real BCN feel.

Definitely Jai-ca for tapas. The staff is unprofessional, the place is and looks old, but it is worth the time spent waiting for your table ;)
It is cheap but there's no menu and I think they make up the prices on the fly - you see the stuff on the bar and point what you want with a finger

my mate runs an illegal hostel there. im sure its dirt cheap. last time i stayed in bcn with him there were ciggarettes hanging from the ceiling. i can hook u up if u like!
