why not just have gmail in Apple Mail?
designerror
(Sep 20 07, 06:44)eh? I'm not sure what this means because I don't have Apple Mail.

(Sep 20 07, 07:30)yes you do. 'Apple Mail' is the mail app in OS X. you have the ability to create multiple accounts for multiple email addresses you may have. gmail is one of these.

don't you have to pay for that?
isn't that tied to .mac account? I'm confuzzled.
- madirish0
hahaha
no, not at all. 'Mail' is the default, installed email reader application- icon in dock of the stamp. free, gratis, nothing needed to use. : )
a .mac account is Apple's email service which you have to pay for for some reason. i think it is pointless.
please don't tell me you are using Entourage or Outlook or something... :(

No, I use Gmail and I installed the Gmail notifier, which is slick.
But now I have to try this thing you call "Mail". Is it good at blocking spam?

I use Thunderbird on the mac so I can access the same mail and settings from windows when I reboot into it
- madirish0
lol
this is hilarious. Mail is to OS X what Outlook is to Windows. make sense? you can have it read any sort of email account you have (including Gmail) and can set up any/all filtering prefs you like. it is an email reader.
:)

Jaline, a tip:
- when asked by the program, don't download images when viewing spam. They're there to notify spammers that your email addy is live by bouncing back your email id to their server :)

Imagine coming home from work, opening up your laptop, and
having it all just work. You don't have to switch your SMTP servers to the one your
ISP insists you use. Your home server mounts automatically.
Your iChat status tells the world 'At Home' and all your favorite
webpages spring open. Excel closes, iTunes launches. The
volume cranks up.That's what Locations does.

I could use something like that for doublecommand pascii. Different key mapping with and without keyboard.

stop laughing at me, madirish!!!
:P
Seriously though, I never used Outlook either until I had to at work.

What do you use that for Wayne?

(Sep 20 07, 07:03)I use it to do quick edits of images and then upload to my FTP space without opening PS or my FTP program, it also has handy little thing like speech boxes.
Its a great little app.

^ Heh, I just used those a few days ago.
