Working with logos, that I cannot recreate... Old English, thin lines stuff, like The New York Times logo.
I have tried adding noise, blur, Reduce Interlace Flicker- which only works a little before blurring too much, turning down the brightness of the text, and a couple other attempts, to no avail... Any other advice?

oultlines should be minimum 3 pixels thick, if text is small it will flicker as well.
increase thesize a bit.
render with lower field 1st

Thanks, Meeklo. Not sure how much thicker I can make the logos in illy, but I'll give the field-render a go.

It's flickering on a broadcast monitor? For an NTSC comp?
Probably just too thin.
Send me a PSD. I'll see if I can sort it out ...
also post on http:www.mograph.net.
They may be able to help you out there ...

you shouldn't use %100 white.
I think its 80 the standard, anyone? don't really remember.

field rendering is a must
you have probably figured it out but yeah it may just be too damn thin, if you can take it into final cut and run it through flicker filter max this has helped me out on a couple of occasions.
