Nice experiment, but I'm not sure I like it to develop much further.
I mean, if this sticks we'll have the northern hemisphere all-a-lit in the 4th of July.
Not to mention Canada Day (heh!) and the Diana Jubilee.
Is space national territory for anyone who just gets there?
This is a thing to ponder wisely I think. Many troubles can come out of this otherwise wonderful experience.

hey, Canada Day fireworks won't hurt anyone. we don't show off like some people...

but, honestly, I think it's good to experiment but I can see how this would lead to more people attempting it. People doing fireworks are ALWAYS trying to out-do each other every year.
But you know how humans are. Command and conquer.

It wasn't actually as far up as 'space' - not so as had the potential to orbit, anyhow. They did it to to 'test atmospheric flow' at altitudes that are awkward for us to reach otherwise.

heh, Witt, I was joking around too.
I don't think everyone should be allowed to do that stuff. but then again, I suspect only rich people will be doing this for a while (once it is allowed for everyone...)

well not even rich people can do this as will. it's hard to get a pocket space-engineer for your parties.
