Sigur Ros always seemed a little TOO mournful and wailie for me.
Musically, I prefer old Múm and Efterklang (Danes are nearly Icelandic, eh?) - but, geographically, I can't think of anywhere on Earth I'd rather see more than Iceland.

There first album was great. Second, meh, third, didn't bother...
They did a great classical soundtrack album though.
Still prefer the first Slowdive eps overall which is pretty much who Sigur Ros seem to be influenced by.
My 2 pence worth, naturally.
