What an age we live in!
I've heard so much about this Facebook thingy lately, I figured I'd see what the fuss is all about so I checked it out for a little bit.
Holy crap!! I found every person I've met like, ever on there. It scared the crap out of me! I don't want to have a profile with my face on there like I'm in an online shopping cart piled up with the entire world, so I quickly closed the site and went right over here to type this...

I'm sorry to hear this jox. You should put up a picture of someone else in your profile, so they think that it is not you.
- jox0
Yes! That's what amunno do!

Thats what i did, my picture is infact a close up of Paul Walls grill.. I also changed my place of work to Cart Jockey at Walmart.

Don't see the appeal. Sometimes you lose touch with people because you want too.
Know what I mean?

Good point.

I have a higher security level on mine for certain people. It's actually quite easy to up the level and customize it.

(Sep 3 07, 12:01)Totally agree.
But more people want to meet up and reunite with others than not. Sometimes I regret using Facebook, but then I remember that I had an account about 1.5 years back, when it wasn't popular. And it was just for post-secondary school students and therefore was more tame and simple (thereby being more useful for me, personally).
While some may argue that it's still very useful for keeping in contact with people, it's also just another thing to keep up with. I get creeped out by knowing that there are douchebags from high school who can view everything about me. I'm actually disgusted with how many people are still in cliques.

much respect joxxy, but i cannot fucking stand facebook. it irritates me to no end how un-intuitive and difficult it is to use/set up. the concept is fine and all (not my cup of tea, but whatev) but the farking UI makes me want to snort thumbtacks.

I only joined because it seemed like less of a dating site than myspace and people cant add their flair to the interface (like blogs etc).
No offence to people on myspace or with blogs, I just get sick of people sending me links to their stories about their lives. I feeling like setting up an automated response.
?subject=no one cares.

(Sep 4 07, 05:07)Completly disagree. I found the interface and useability far superior to any other social netwroking site. I looked at Bebo, Mysapce, ringo and joined never to eturn as they frustrated me. Facebook was far superior.
I have found it very useful in getting in new work and finding out what fellow graduates have done. One of my friend did 3 5 minute spots on Channel 4 the other day and I would of never of known. I have also been to 2 college reunions which was really good and very interesting.
On a side not I do not like people who I do not know finding out about me. hence why some people just are not me "friends". I did not know you could restrict people, thanks Jaline

Yup - have to agree with Dancer here - I initially found the structure quite perplexing (indeed, the entire concept) but quickly came to appreciate its strengths respect the complexity it hides from the user.
Now, if I can just find a polite way to nonchalantly ignore people I no longer want anything to do with - I've only been there a month and already have a number of people in my list who I'd never considered 'friends'. Must learn to say 'no'.
- Jaline0
yeah, I love the way you can hide nearly anything you don't want other people to see, or they have to dig deeper to find basic info (like expanding and condensing each section). I liked the older interface when you couldn't add tons of new apps and stuff to it, but it's still not as bad as MySpace.
- Nairn0
Brilliant! Uncheck "Show times in my Mini-Feed"..
..Now no one can tell how long I've been ignoring them for!

Facebook is better than MySpace, but I know more people on MySpace I guess.
What the hell can I say, I have a Virb account too, haha.
