It's the weed, it has to be. That's the only way you'd forget, um, "Copy-Paste."

You sure you're not thinking of Illustrator? I think that dropping or loading images anywhichway into Photoshop leads to a new document.

Drag it onto the photoshop stage and it will open in photoshop. Then drag it into the document.

Hmm. Well, beyond using the place command, or directly copying and pasting, I can not recall ever having file-dragged an image straight into a psd.
I do know that I do this in Illy all the time - usually inadvertently - when forgetting that I'm not in PS and that dropping an image in will include it straight into my document, which is often annoying.

I tried it in CS2.
When I drag an image from the desktop, hover it over the PS menu in the taskbar, and then wait until PS opens up, it just pastes the image into a new image file. It won't go directly into the image file I already have open.

I know Jaline, i am working with CS3 not so much time, and i thought..Woooww..nice feature!
and now it does not work anymore...so frustrating.

I can drag an image from Firefox to a .psd file is CS2 - but this is probably of little help to you.
