I would never do this, seems cruel for sure, but very curious:
How do you think a cat would respond to having costume contacts in its eyes?
Better yet, how would people react to seeing a harmless house cat with some of these:
Not sure why I thought of this other than the fact that I was laying on my bed with my cat not liking the way she was staring at me.

That would be really cool. If you could somehow pursuade the cat not to go apeshit and claw your eyes out.

Yeah, I feel sorry for the dude who tries to put those in his cat's eyes.

Stupid, ungrateful cat.

OMG fusion, my mom tried to get me to put those on my cat so many times. I'd tell my mom that I wasn't getting her declawed, then say that she was clawing the couch, then a day later what's in my inbox?
A message like:
"Michael, I really think these would be good to try on your cat. I know you said you are going to keep her claws, but I really wish you would get her claws out since you don't want to ruin your pretty furniture. Maybe these Soft Paws will help. Here's the web site."
My cat would have had those things off her paws in a nanosecond. She's tough. She survived a fall from a 4 story window. Aint no lame-ass claw covers going on her.

we have 3 cats and we were wondering if we had to declaw them as well since they were ruining the furniture but we read so many bad things about declawing that we started looking for options and the covers was one of them. But in the end we decided just to trim their nails and it worked perfectly. I said it worked because after our first child was born we had to made them outside cats and now they live happily outside with their full grown claws.

I am sure that I can pick mg33 threads strictly by title now.

That's a cool skill mrb!
fusion - I trim my cat's claws regularly. Usually when I get home she's totally docile and has missed me all day so I can trim then quickly and easily without her trying to attack me. We're great friends but she till guards herself sometimes.
This is her, btw:
It's funny, at PetSmart they sell a calico colored mouse, same colors as she is. When she destroys one I just go grab a new one and fill it with catnip.

haha, we used to have the same toy in white....

I need a photo of where she sleeps when I'm on the computer. She curls up inside a cardboard box that Raman noodles were packaged in! I think it held 12 packs of Raman. She fits perfectly, all curled up and tight. She loves it.

she must be huge! those boxes are not that small. when our cats were inside cats they used to sleep on my lap while I worked on the computer, sometimes they would have small fights to which one wanted to sleep there haha

LOL.
Mine likes to be on my lap every now and then. She's about 6 years old now. She was kind of my first "friend" when I moved to Chicago, someone couldn't keep her anymore and gave her to me. I was so broke and destitute back then when I moved here, I used to buy the cat food and barely have anything for myself. I've always had a major attachment to animals and completely love this cat. I really enjoy that feeling. It's nice for a pet to depend on you and find comfort with you. I live in a studio apartment and she sleeps on the bed when I'm sleeping, lately she actually sleeps on a pillow right beside my head! and ESPECIALLY in the morning after my girlfriend has left around 6:20 a.m.
I think she asserts her dominance when she leaves or something, like "this is MY pillow now, I'm your main woman!" Hahaha
