I plan on going to Iceland soon.
Should I rent a car? I am mostly interested in the nature end of the country, but also want to check out the cities a bit..
Any tips for traveling there would be mucho appreciated.

Yes, rent a car. Especially if you are going there to see the nature, some of those things are a little off of the beaten path. There are all sorts of small AWD cars available.
Once you are in Reykjavik you won't really need a car most every thing is close together and there are cabs everywhere.
Stay at Baldursbrá guesthouse in town http://notendur.centrum.is/~heij…
nice little spot really near downtown.
