I made some custom brushes in illustrator but when the path overlaps, it knocksout in white instead of filling with the same color. Does anyone know why it wouldn't stay the same color like the default brushes do?

Hmm, I don't - but you're sure the paths on your source graphic are closed? That might have something to do with it, maybe?

I checked to see if that would be the case and all paths are closed. Hmmm. I tried to create another brush out of a simple rectange and same issue is coming up. wierd.

This is driving me absolutely bonkers. I can't find anything on this. I call shenanigans on custom brushes.

I'm teaching a course on Illy CS3....hope I can help.
Can you post a pic of what's happening...I'm not sure I fully understand...it's seems to be working over here.

i just used a custom brush myself.
using CS3 here.Everything is working fine on my end too.

Wow...what a pisser. It only happens on certain brushes that have intricate detail...now I'm getting it too.
I'm trying to out what's up...but I fixed it by doing an Object>Expand
then Object>Live Paint>Make
and then filling my white spaces with my brush color. Not the best solution...but it works. I'll see if I can find out more.

Marychain, thank you for saving my sanity. Let me know if you find anything else.
