All praises to Jah Rastafari.

It's been floating around the darker corners of the intertubes for a few weeks now. It is a righteous recording of Jah-titude and furious hardcore frenzy...

Is HR still a misogynistic, homophobic burnout? I remember the last few times BB tried to reunite, he supposedly messed things up.
- madirish0
yes he is.
he is a strict follower of rule-of-word Rastafarianism

The good ol' early BB days

There's a book called "Our Band Could Be Your Life" that has a chapter about BB. I think it's Ian MacKay who mentions how when they started getting big in DC that skinheads would still come to the shows, stand in back and secretly be fans. HR apparently used to yell at them to come to the front and ask what they were afraid of.
I saw them in 96' and then heard that a week later they kicked HR out again. He jumped into the crowd and clocked some guy with the mic stand who said something to him.

rylamar, what city did you see them in? I saw that tour (God of Love) in STL and I think he hit someone in the next show at KC. I saw them another time in 91 when Chuck Treece was the singer.
They are still one of my all time favorites. I still remember hearing Quickness for the first time as a kid and how it blew our minds.

exactly. he details this very well in "Dance of Days"- such a good book.

I saw them in Dallas. Oh shit just remembered. A friend and I had just driven back in town the night before, worked all day and then went to the show so of course I was tired as hell and running on no sleep. Anyways, I'm about to drop him off at his house in north Dallas about 2am when I get pulled over although I wasn't speeding or anything.
The cop walks up and looks at me and then my friend who was passed out asleep since we basically hadn't slept in 2 days. He asked where I came from and I told him we just left a concert downtown and he looks at me kinda weird and tells me to stay there.
He comes back about 15 min later and asks me to get outta the car. They separate us and I get out and look behind his car and there are 5 fucking cop cars!! Turns out that since I hadn't slept AND went to a smokey concert my eyes were bloodshot to hell and there was the slight smell of weed that stuck to my clothes from people around me reggae'n it up.
So two cops pull me aside and grill the shit outta and me being real confrontational. "Have you been doing any drugs tonight?", "What's wrong with your friend?". I say he's asleep, we haven't done any drugs, and that I've only slept 3 hours in the past 48 due to out of town, work, then a show which I realized had physically taken it's toll on me by their attitudes. Then they ask what band we saw and I'm thinking great this will sound really good. I tell them Bad Brains and they ask what type of music and I say reggae/punk which probably didn't help either. Then the lady cop suspiciously asks, "Were people smoking marijuana there?" HAHA!! I so wanted to laugh but I just politely said, "Have you ever been to a concert?". She didn't reply to that.
They just harrassed us and then let us go after about 30 min. and told me to go get some sleep.

That's awful, rylamar! Sometimes it can be pretty hard to muster respect for our 'finest'...
