Is a slot loading disc drive in a mac laptop ok to put a 3" disc in?

they definitely used to NOT be ok to do this. have not actually had one in years to try.
all i know, is i was told to try it in an old G4 by an owner of the company i was working for, and then i got to be the "dude who worked on his laptop for 3 hours fishing for a 3" CD in his slot-loading powerbook..."

i concur.
I actually tried that myself once. Ended up getting a small torx screwdriver and having to dismantle everything.
I woudl not recommend it.
