Does anyone know much about thermography (rasied ink)? I was given a business card that used thermography and it was done very well. I scanned the card so you can see how it was done (my scanner is very dirty so the cards look shitty).
They raised some parts of the ink higher than others and it looks to me as if there are 3 different tiers to the ink. Not just two tiers.
I've also attached the back of the card. It looks poorly on the screen but the back is equally as impressive as the front.
How do you design to take into account this type of printing?:

This is a colored foil stamped onto the paper. Definetly NOT Thermography.

Foil stamping can look great. Best thing to do if you've never done it before....create your artwork in vector and work with your printer...explain to them how you want the "levels" to work. They can help you. Obviously...the more complex and leveled the stamp...the more expensive it gets. Certain elements like thin type don't bump very well either.
