directing my first shoot tomorrow and it's with a signer (sign language person) and I'm loading myslef yo :'( still though how hard can it be I'll just shout directions louder yeah?...

it's bottom right ye mad rocket :/ but I guess you were testing me I'll be doing it afterwards skt, I'm using green screen etc. and a compositing package to pop her on later, what happens if she makes weird noises like the greased up deaf guy from faily guy :/......

I think a common misconception is that a director is the one barking orders. Often that can be left to an assistant director or producer. People in it to bark orders are usualyy cheesy and shit. Get your notes/storyboard together, stay calm and enjoy it.

never read her lines for her in character, that'll piss her off, the part is hers after all not yours, give her action directions instead, eg. not "then you start shouting and waiving your hands about, you're dead angry" but "make them stop hitting you" or some such.

I've always liked signers who color tape their fingers. Its easier to catch the subtle signs..and it just looks more intersting to the non-hearing impaired. Also make sure you get good contrast beetween the signers hands and shirt color.
