I'm after an xml/sql (not flash!) RECOMMENDATION. I'm happy getting my hands grubby - just not smart enough to code my own from scratch. I'm more concerned with basic (Db) than GeeWhizz (interaction) functionality (I already use lightbox, but need a baser alternative).
Also, longer term - I'm interested in a gallery which can handle uploads from user accounts and ratings. Again, I can find loads out there - I just want your input.
Ta!

oh yeah - i checked the PVN, but am after a solution which allows meta data/descriptions for the images in the SQL/XML- not just a basic slideshow ('cos I can nick that bit from Lightbox)

?Perhaps I came on a bit strong? I only wished to avoid responses such as "Google!" and "Search the f-ing PVN, foo"
Maybe an "I'd appreciate.." or "Please.." would've helped? Is it too late? Am I already beyond offense?
Or is it merely that my eyes are not wide enough? Does the answer lie right here, in front of me? Should I look into my heart? Pray to God? Spin a bottle or think outside my box?

Thanks Blaw that seems to fit the bill for request #2 - have you used it yourself? Is it easy to completely overhaul the graphics and layout (by easy I mean 'practically possible')?
Have you any idea why it needs to be so gosh-darned big? (9.5mb)

i used one of their templates, so i kinda cheated.
using that, it went up in no time at all. with it being open source surely there is information available on reskinning.
regarding the bloat, i'm assuming it's due to misc. unneeded bells/whistles.
one reason i used this was to upload a .ZIP and have the system create the thumbnails, zooms, gallery without any effort on my part. again, just being lazy.

Ok, cool! Your site seems ample proof of the features I need, so I'll consider that a recommendation from experience.
Thankyou, my good sir!
Now, anyone got any recommendations for super-basic pic db/xml code?
