'practical' depends on what you are trying to achieve of course...

Those pics have very little to do with what the production version will look like. I will definitely be looking into this car when it comes out. Nothing drives like a porsche.
- Tyrone0
But THIS is going to be the next Porsche to get...
- jox0
I have no doubt this is going to be awesome.

Jox!!!! Getting my Milltek exhaust installed next wekk VROOOOOMMMM!!!!

B-E-A-utiful!

res or non-res?
- Tyrone0
Good question. Been talking to the guys at the shop about that. Was thinking going non-res. Any thoughts?
- madirish0
non-res will get you much more easily pulled over- especially in CT. i know someone w/ a 355 who has this happen to them more than they would like.
it sounds dope, but if it were me in the US east coast (which i am), i would go w/ the res.
- Tyrone0
Well the big reason I want the new exhaust is for that growl. But I really want it to scream at WOT. Don't really need it to be too loud at idle.
- madirish0
right, i agree all the way.
jox- link up that Carrera GT you know in LA sans res. that thing will give you an idea of what it *could* sound like, Tyrone.... :)
- jox0
Then definitely go res.
Also more comfortable on longer trips... and your neighbors will like you better :)
- vwsung18t0
yeah, unless you drive it once a month or something, go with res.

Here's a CGT with straight pipes and someone gets annoyed... hahaha

My car seems so blah compared to that GT2. I want that car! I might have to go down to the dealership and have a little talk with them......

(Jul 26 07, 06:55)I've had one RS4 and two RS6's.
What do you want to know? I know them better than I know my own mom!
:)

lol jox! any weird performance or structural issues, like the subframe weakening and having to be re-welded? i was reading up on the rs4 which i believe is a v8...wasn't there a v6 version of it in previous years? do you know if the latest models perform as well or better than previous years?
i don't think they're bringing in the rs6s at the moment (at least they're not on the audi US site).
- jox0
You're right! While I haven't owned the new RS4 (B7), a good friend has and it's absolutely brilliant. Miles ahead of the RS4 (B5) and RS6s I owned in terms of handling and rev-happiness.
I have never ever heard of the subframe weakening on any Audi to be honest, and my cars have mostly been extensively modded, too. You're not gonna take it off-road are you?? :)
The old RS6 only came as a sedan to the US, and the new one hasn't been launched yet. I would stay away from the old one out of warranty. It had problems with the Dynamic ride control and the gearbox among other things..
Buy the best car you can find and stay away from modded ones (do it yourself!) Repairs are not cheap and finding someone who knows about the car is difficult.
If the car is a clean car, go for it. The RS6 is a very rewarding everyday car. Not to mention you wont see yourself coming and going or feel lost in the sea of BMW's and MB's running around.. The people who are in the "know"... Know what the RS6 is..
Its stealthy super sedan that can run circles around most of the cars on the roads today......
With that said, I'd go for the new RS4. Absolutely brilliant car. That friend I was talking about earlier replaced his 06 Porsche 997S with one and he couldn't be happier.
Feel free to email me for more detailed stuff, I could go on all day, haha.
