The Chicago logo you included is no longer being used.
The original company who designed it, I believe, violated the regulations of the IIOC that forbids using Olympic imagery in a logo.

Sucks, because it's a beautiful logo. I love seeing it all over te city, and the imagery that went with it was great as well.

Also - I hope Tokyo gets it for 2016, well, I hope anywhere but Chicago gets it.
Sorry to be unAmerican or whatever, but it's absurd to put the Olympics in this city. Completely absurd. There's no room for it, it's going to ruin too many lives, suck up too much money, and will probably in the end be run by corrupt animals just like the city government is.

That Tokyo log is awful, although due to recent events in London it must be a hard thing to design, all that red tape and commitee meetings, oh how does it go... a camel is a horse designed by committee?! or something like that!

eww. Tokyo 2016 logo stinks... and dare i say it could be worse than London.
London logo is ugly but at least versatile. this thing relies on gradients and a frame to contain itself.
not to mention the horrid type... the "KY" coulda been so much better.

actually TOKYO2O16 woulda been ideal as a simple wordmark.. all the elements are there.

london's is ugly and shallow, but it is at least usable.
