imo, fountains go up, not sideways.

(Jul 6 07, 06:19)perspective nairn, perspective. anyway, what it "up" if not a man made construct.
- Witt0
fountains go up?
- material-10
got a point there v5, he did ask for insults and to be honest most people just gave their opinions fairly(on what we know now is 6 year old plagerism)
- Nairn0
Well, initially, yes.
But what goes up must...
- skt0
be removed surgically?

Concept is solid. I agree with the spacing and justification of the elements, it does slowly distract from the work. It would be nice for the graphic to catch some how on some thing, perhaps you can incorporate your own creative touch. I think it is fun, clean and effective. I think if you polish it up, clean corners, edges, edge fidelities, perhaps use a darker red for some spice and you will be golden.
Nice job. ;)

Thanks 4 your opinions, although I´m not looking for precision. Actually it´s based on collage I made. Maybe I should exagerate these graphic details..

(Jul 5 07, 11:40)if you're not looking for precision i would recommend changing the style a bit. the borders, line and colouring you're using implies that you're attempting a clean, tight design so maybe that's throwing us all off

you probably already know your work is similar to this branding scheme.

as to your response that you don't care about the details in this design; you're fooling yourself if you don't think details matter. it's no punk rock design you've got going here, sloppiness isn't helping you with this style. and if you don't care, someone else (the hand that feeds) does.

poor spacing
no story
bad attempt at a 5 yr old technique

who the fuck cares what you see neonbeige? surely not me.
reread the post, especially the title.

Not that I want to carry on this childishness - but v5 I've been on this site long enough to know that people don't need to ask for an insult from you just to get one. Simply because you don't know your asshole from a sinkhole, when it comes to design, doesn't mean you should overcompensate for your insecurities and verbally abuse newer guys looking for help. It'll just keep them from asking questions in the future.
And - Material, go re-read what the guy wrote, he said that this was based on a collage he did in school 6 years ago...so unless you want to plead that he was a different person than he is now, and he stole this idea from his former self, it wouldn't be considered plagiarism < and that is how you spell it Kojak. ;)

You really need to work on the details more - it's where the strength in these types of graphics come from.
First off, as v5 says - there needs to be a story - some narrative or purpose to define the form of the graphic you're creating.
Secondly - the details! you've got rounded edges against sharp ones, non-uniform spacing between elements, curves not fitting into each other - it's all over the place.
Id I were you, I'd try a simpler version with far fewer elements all of which are absolutely hard-aligned to a grid.
Set yourself some rules - eg. elements x, y & z can be spaced 10px apart, whilst elements a,b & c can be 5px apart - no more, no less.
Also, despite the length of this response, asking for a crit for a single graphic is stupid!
