nairn, dual core is not all that different. within a day it was annoying me by my asking for too much and my having to wait
using the old machine i gave my brother, it does seem slow now, though it earned me money over the past 6 years, i'll never forgive it for the day it asked if i wanted to format the C: drive while i was working
and after the processor, ram and drives i put in it, not to mention the monitors, ungrateful bitch.
coming to you live from the backyard on the dual core notebook :)

I've got 3 500gbs (I just paid $150 for a 500 that's still sitting in a box).
I've got two older Maxtors too (200gb and 300bg, I think).I don't have faith in anything, although I agree most of the downfalls are software/web related.
SpyDoctor just killed my machine after a year of great service, the autoupdate apparently wasn't compatible with something.
Thank God for Dell's tech support! It was a blue screen of death and I was sure a reinstall of XP would be called for.Soon it'll be time for this bad boy:
