2d Cartoon Chatacter Animation Software

  Ive been animating head, legs, arms of a cartoon character in after effects using parenting and changing anchor points, just in a 2d space... and its become very tedious...

  Ive seen Ninjai animations (flash?) and I've checked out ToonBoom software, looks quite good for what I'd be using it for..

  can anyone from this kind of cartoon character industry help me out with some advice for the most effective, easy to use software for this type of stuff...character animation is very new to me..
