My professor was telling the class the other day about how she has 3 boys and one of them likes to play with dolls and whatnot (even wanted some for Christmas), but her husband refused to buy them. So she got her mother to get them for her son instead, heh.

I would make sure that the kid isnt dragged thru the news like he/she is. Just trying to capitalize on it i bet.

(Jun 29 07, 08:51)that's what i can't stand...if your kid is trans-gendered, then why not let them live their lives as they feel comfortable? if they want to talk about it when they're old enough to handle the attention and criticism which will inevitably follow, then great! but 7? pathetic.

Won't he still have freaky man shoulders? I dunno, I would've bought him dolls instead.

"Fuck off, you wouldn't believe the sort of twisted shit I came up with at 7, christ even earlier.
emecks "
I remember fantasising about my kindergarten teacher topless when I was 5, rubbing myself on the floor and making such odd noises that my parents asked me to stop. *insert awkward emoticon*

I like how people talk out of their asses.
It's very very very common for transgendered people to know that they were born the wrong sex at a very early age. Studies have shown that the majority of gender identity issues surface before people are 5 years old.
That kid seems quite intelligent, and the parents seem very grounded to me in that interview. That being said, I don't think you can draw conclusions from a 5 minute video piece about the lives of the people in it.
IMO - having seen so much of this, and studied a lot of it, if the parents nurture this kid and she is truly a she, she may end up being a whole person. The teenage years would totally suck though. Weird to have to decide about hormone treatments at a very young age.
But emecks - for someone so passionate about this, you really don't know your ass from your elbow on this subject.
