Isn't HDTV becoming a standard in the US for television viewing? I thought i had read somewhere analog tv's were going to be used no more and eventually evryone will need to upgrade.
I can't find anything to back this up?
Does anyone have a link or just tell me its rubbish and that will do too.

"The federal government (through the Federal Communications Commission) mandated that all TV signals will be delivered by the year 2009 when the analog spectrum will be turned off. (The actual date is currently set for 2/17/2009)."...

"When Will the DTV Transition Be Complete?
TV stations serving all markets in the United States are airing digital television programming today, although most will continue to provide analog programming through February 17, 2009. At that point, full-power TV stations will cease broadcasting on their current analog channels, and the spectrum they use for analog broadcasting will be reclaimed and put to other uses."

so it's a digital signal that stations are transferring too... doesn't always mean it's going to be HD as the program would have had to of been shot in HD... keep that in mind (reruns of the Brady Bunch aren't going to all the sudden be 1080p... :)... )

I don't know how people can stand digital. The picture is all pixelated and nasty, especially when there's a lot of action/movement.
It's like watching a video on your computer. So annoying.
