I have recently taken a job role which is mainly web design, can anyone recommend any good magazines?or am I just being stupid and and should just be surfing for designs?
Cheers

I'd go with surf.
You've got the inspiration and view-source right there in front of you. Magazines are sooo 19xx.
Who needs editorial when web2.0 gives us a billion screaming voices?

I don't know of any that are really all that great. There's some UK mag I see at Borders, something Web Design.
Create Online was probably the best magazine ever for web design and Flash and new media. It was out back in 2000, 2001 and from the UK, always very well worth the $16 price. I think I still have some somewhere...

I'd surf for websites about webdesign magazines personally.

CreateOnline was a good magazine at the time, always had decent sites on show - like the kind of sites we'd share these days on NT. and theyd cover projects like big sites like MTV etc or big brands.
its a shame that it obviously went tits up - you could see the content deteriorating towards the end shortly after the dotcom bubble burst.
i had a few things in it 'back in the day'.
its a shame theres nowt like it these days as it is nice to get away from the comp screen and read a mag.
theres plenty of books out there, and definitely plenty sites to get good links from.
NT, DiK, K10K, Surfstation etc

It's not like magazines always have enough valid content worth monthly publishing anyway: "How to lose you gut fast" "Treat her right in bed" repeat repeat etc... So I'd imagine it'd be hard to keep a web design one going.
