A MIT research team has figured out how to wirelessly illuminate an unplugged light bulb from seven feet away.

Wasn't this what tesla achieved and dreamed of for us all? Until the greedy power companies got involved. Free electricity floating in the air.... BAHUMBUG! IF IT CAN BE CONTROLLED, WE'LL CHARGE YOU FOR IT!
hooray for capitalism!.... wait a minute...

Yeah, what a magnificent accomplishment and it was done before.

Exactly..who knows what else came up with that was hidden and never published.

It's a disgrace really. Just look at what capitalism in general brought us.

    - Life of people with money seems more important then people without money, when a life should be a life and worth saving no matter how much money you have

    - Rich people very rarely go to jail. The same rules do not apply.

    - Companies that peak in their markets and destroy everyone else who tries to become a valid competition in a timely manner through it's own contacts in politics, financial institutions and legal system.

    - Oil dependency, when we don't really need to be dependant on it. Oil companies and car manufacturers either buy or forcefully take over promising companies and just simply shut them down.

Cures most likely for cancer or aids, but even though making it public would generate big income, it is much more financially beneficial for people to get treated unsuccessfully then to make them healthy.

The same goes with pharmaceutical companies and similar.

etc etc. There are so many bad things that people are even afraid to think about or just say "well I can't personally change anything". And to be honest, this is the real problem.

Of course, capitalism has it's good sides, it promotes competition and in fact should promote advancement in many fields, but it seems that phase has passed and now we are experiencing all the bad things from people and companies that got on top and won't let go.
