...but this time I quit which was a refreshing change from the previous two redundancies in two years. but it's really lead me to think that I'm not cut out for having a boss.

Problem is, I've done freelancing and I don't enjoy the lack of control over the work SOOOO, what I want to know is does anyone on here rent a desk and do work for the place you rent it in? (I'm primarily a print based designer by the way, not digital)

If so, how did you get into that situation and is it a good set up? Do you make money from that agency or just do enough to pay for the desk?

It's an option I'm seriously considering as I don't think I've quite got enough clients/potential clients to just go out on my own entirely.

Does anyone rent a desk and do work for the place you rent at? So basically you have a desk and a boss you have to see all day but you don't get a steady paycheck or benefits. That retarded dude :)

I've heard of shared studio space . Shit, if there was someone near me that would be down I would do that just to be social and get out of my house.

why don't you just freelance full time via an agency? it works out pretty much like what you're describing... but you go to a different desk every time you switch...

    good luck!

shit, office space isn't that expensive + you can write it off as an expense for taxes. you can find a small 2 office spot for ~500/mo. we're paying 850 for 4 offices, a meeting/conference area and pretty large reception area (big enough for 4+ cubicals). Just go look around, you'll see... it's not bad and worth getting out of the house, that drives me crazy
