I posted this in the PBS before:
http://don.citarella.net/index.p…Now you can dynamically restrict uploads by file type, if you're interested.

thanks, this could be useful.

Yup, it's hugely flexible. I thought about having the file types be limited to one file (ie. JPEG Files - *.jpg) but it seems much more versatile to have it the way I built it (image|video|audio|text, etc.).
Any requests?

anyone get this to work?
- version30
i have seen the progress bar on 2 servers and found nothing in the files repository
why not an "all files" option, i'm not able to upload .html, .php, .zip, files etc.
I'd like to be able to upload anything (and then know where it is)
pretty cool stuff
:)

oh, and i can't open the .fla in my flash mx professional 2004 v 7.2
are you calling me cheap? :P
anyway to get a saved down version?

- version30
so I am cheap?
*dismayedmaybe just some advice then, where did the files go?
they're not in "files".

...I can't seem to get anything to upload! :(
am I missing something? uploaded all the files - made the files folder 777 - on a unix server supporting php 5
When I try to upload I get a blank browser window - and a message in the original window saying the file is not allowed...
I'd really like to get this working as it could be v.useful for a number of things!
any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?
**good work thoughera404 ;)

I think you only need to make a file 755 at the most. 777 means I can modify your file as opposed to just executing it.
You just broadcasted "hax0r me!"

check if you have your files in both a www folder and a public folder. i placed the uploader in my public folder (where the rest of my site is) and the uploaded files did not show you there, but they did show up in the www folder. if you saw the progress bar and d/l complete then i'm sure they are on your server...go look around.

check log.txt it's sort of a debugger. Everything looks fine in mine, but the file is just not uploading. I'll try to look into it at some point
- joyride0
well, it's not using php5... thats for sure... 500 internal server error in that mode
- era4O40
hey v5, if you want "all files" just comment out the types variable in the index.

Updated! Mike fixed a bunch of security issues, added caching of auto-generated thumbnails, and provided a pre-upload preview of the file, type, name and mime. Grab a new zip, here:

Thanks for everyone's positive feedback. For obvious reasons, I won't be posting a link to the online demo...but if you're interested in seeing one, write me directly.
