for the same project are you asking, or different elements? i would personally never even consider the two side-by-side...
apples and oranges.

both are pretty different.
if your looking for a full cms I would go with drupal.
wordpress is very customizable and easy to use but not as intuitive to set up as a cms. its more for publishing articles ect.

i've been making themes for wordpress which has been great for learning the insides of how it works.
wordpress is very adaptable.
My last office used it for their new site as a cms.

There seem to be more WP users on NT, than Drupal:

I use http://livejournal.com and code the layout myself (with a paid account). I've had it for 3.5 years so I didn't really want to go to another site.

I like Expression Engine for larger projects and sNews for smaller ones...but that's just me..

sNews is great.
really straight forward.

I prefer wordpress because its a lot lighter and easier to manage. I've tried Drupal, and didn't have the most pleasant experience with it. It's good as a full blown CMS, the catch (from what I've seen/experienced) is that you can't tweak it (customize) it too much or it'll be impossible to update it (newer versions). Some people I've asked said they have to re-do everything with each update... just my experience. Wordpress is a lot more flexible. I'm not a Drupal fan. Soz.

we use movabletype to manage the entire site: http://www.areyougeneric.org/
