okay. I'm into illustration. And my parents have been in advertising for a lot of years. So they've always given advice.
But at what point are you allowed to safely say their ideas are a little dated?
or is that me not listening to experience?

are you serious?

impossible to answer, if your parents don't keep up to date with trends etc. then they will be dated if they do then they won't.

you don't wanna listen because it's your parents or because you think you are better because you use the internets to find the newest cock flashing his illustrator masking skills which in most cases are complete and utterly useless in the real world ?

it's a good ting to listen to advice. doesn't mean you have to follow it, it's just a different angle.

what advice sounds dated to you?
Is it a style thing or a work philosophy thing?

i'll hug you, chossy. :)
hey, listen to your folks, definitely. but you may need to be flexible in how you apply their advice, given the changes that have taken place in the industry in the years since they were immersed in it.
