Jack's beard is black though, while on the Island his facial hair is more grey like.
But this is a tiny detail, you could just as well be asking who shaved Kate's armpits while she was in the cage :)rafalski

That stuck out like a soar thumb to me too!!The whole time in the flash forward was difficult to watch could you see how shaggy and fake that damn... non-gray beard of his was... :)
- Jaline0
I agree, it was obviously fake. His mustache in particular was pretty bad, if you looked closely.
As for the beard, I mean, I guess he could've dyed it when he was back home, but I doubt that since he was so depressed all the time and living in a messy environment. Dying his beard seemed more like the last thing he'd be thinking about.
They always find ways to explain away lack of hair growth and weight on the island (since it's obviously not real). For example, the writers had to find some way to get the characters some food on the island, which came with the Dharma packages, but it also provided a way to explain how Hurley is still really fat.
I haven't seen one for the women shaving all the time, but I guess they have razors somewhere.

lolzz...
... none of us would still be watching if these people REALLY looked like they had been on an island for months. :)
... and just a side note about that - I like Evie Lilly w/out all the make-up... jus' plain-Jane.
...makes me feel like I have more of a chance with her. :D

(May 26 07, 11:34)Haha.. what is striking in future Kate is not that suddenly she has makeup, but that she wears different makeup

Of course they aren't going to be THAT realistic. But I would appreciate SOMETHING. Even something small.
I want to see someone shaving or doing some old-school shaving with a blade / scissors, heh. Or worry about gaining a little weight or...anything. The fat jokes / comments about Hurley aren't enough.

Also, why do they still have fabulous hair?
Seriously, lol.

^ rhetorical...

Also too, if Ben and cronies gassed the entire Dharma project 20 years ago, why the fuck would the food drops still work? Wouldn't Dharma be a lil suspicious that they haven't heard from anyone in 20 years?
"Gee they might all be dead, but as long as they keep pushing the bring-us-food button, we'll keep delivering, no matter the cost."

I think that Richard other guy is not real, he's a Tyler Durden type - has he every talked to anybody except Ben?
- PonyBoy0
hmmm... Richard... didn't he provide Locke w/his father's file?
... wasn't he also the dude who hired the blonde baby lady?
... i could be mistaking my characters here... as I can't even recall the blonde's name right now... :)

oh crap, yeah, I think that was Richard who gave Locke the file . . . could it have been Ben? Like did Locke ever say, "Richard gave me this file?"
- harlequino0
I think Jacob is the black smoke.
Wasn't it looming when Locke and Ben were at that cabin?
- dkmb0
was it? so, who/what said "help me" to Locke in the cabin?
- PonyBoy0
the thing about Richard...
... he's never aged really.. has he?
He's one of the original hostiles that Ben met as a kid... he didn't look much different - other than longer hair.
- harlequino0
Does "original hostile" = OH?
