I'm heading to Beantown for the first time next weekend, when the Yanks are in town. I'm not sure if I'll have time to try to scalp for a ticket, but any advice if I can? Worth it? I definitely want to get down to the streets of Fenway at least. But a Yanks/Sox game at Fenway would be awesome. Impossible?

you can also get online and search for local brokers in boston... there are ALWAYS tickets available... you just gotta have the cash.

it was '78, rand. but, tickets can be had, but scalping has been getting cracked down on big time recently, and its only going to get more ramped up for a sox/yanks series. so, my advice would be to check craigslist or something in advance of the game. better way to get a ticket anyways. but, if you want to get to the streets of fenway, you can always hit up the newly renovated cask n' flagon for a beer and watch the game across from the monster.

being born and bred a red sox fan, i have a lot of respect for the yankees. jeter is a player and there's no denying it. mo is world class. and, torre is the man. that said, i fucking hate half their team this year.
no one can even try and defend giambi. dude is tapped. damon is damon. never was a fan of him even when he was on the sox. matsui needs to go back to china. i love how whenever a-rod tries to prove he's a leader on his team, it totally backfires (the slap in the '04 ALCS and then elbowing pedroia on a hard slide).
they need to bring back bernie. he was a player as well. and, i was watching the YES broadcast last night here in NYC and it just reaffirmed my hatred for paul o'neill. what an ass.
but, best part of the game last night was definitely the naked gun-esque umpiring by the home plate ump last night. he did everything but the moonwalk when punching people out. it was hysterical. i thought pedroia was gonna knock him out. tito coming out of the dugout to tell him to chill out was priceless.

The Yankees do need Bernie back. I have been pretty suspect at a lot of their moves the past few years.
Abreu was a bad pickup, everyone saw that coming a mile away - and letting go Sheffield as a result was insane.
Sheffield was a great Yankee, and is now a great Tiger. Boggles my mind.
Matsui apparently is never going to be the same after getting hurt, and the first base situation is a joke.
I was livid when they got rid of Soriano, but thankfully Cano came along and he is a good prospect, as well as Melky looking like they will hopefully be the new torch-bearers for a *young* Yankee team.
A-Rod is an absolute beast and will go down as the best player to ever live, Jeter is still fantastic.
The pitching is just awful.
G-d awful.
Throwing money at Petite and Clemens makes no sense whatsoever. It is like Theo just feigned interest in both to scare Cashman into making deals with them.
That being said.
The Yankees as always will turn it on after the All-Star Break.

I remember my first redsox game as a kid... i was 5... my three bros, me & pops had on our matching redsox mesh caps (back when mesh was there cuz it was new... not hip... is it still hip? I digress)...
... when the bleacher seats were dirty and cheap... NO ONE sat out there... the green monster had nothing on top of it but open skies... waiting for the next ball to make it's way over...

don't get me wrong here, pony. i'm just talking about the team. every time im walking around NYC and i see some guy wearing the shirt that has the yankees logo and 'do the math' under it makes me want to pull out my [bleep] and personally [long bleep]. i find it humorous because i'm pretty sure that person couldn't actually do the math themselves.
