I'll be there end of June any recommendations on a good area to live in? Preferbly somewhere with bars, shops etc
cheers

i got your back.
Are you looking to rent?
I prefer the "M Streets" in the Lower Greenville area.
Nice houses, green lawns and within stumbling distance from the good bars.

What is prompting this move from the promise land to the wasteland?
j/k, Dallas has it's charms, it's just that having grown up there and having visited NYC before I couldn't imagine moving TO Dallas from New York.
When I graduated from college all I wanted to to was get TO New York. Chicago was a good happy medium.

believe it or not, north oak cliff isnt that bad around the bishop arts district either.

watch it mg..
If you want, I can show you around a bit when you arrive.

I know I know, I'm not knocking it too hard. :)
It's just different when you've gotten away. Everyone who does that - leaving their hometown - says the same thing.
I just hate that Deep Ellum has gone to hell in a handbasket. Trees first, then Gypsy, really sucks.

Well the reason we're moving is that Mrs.Mal is doing a years surgical fellowship there. We have no real clue about the area and will have to get a place without seeing it.
Kevin I'll get the beers in!
- KevinTx0
I didn't know you were from Dallas. Yeah, the Trees/Gypsy shit is lame. It will all work out though.. Did you grow up here?
- mg330
KevinTX,
Yah, I grew up in North Richland Hills and Keller mostly, went to high school in Keller.
Went to UTA from 1996 - 2001 and graduated from there. Moved to Chicago in Sept. 2001.
I always say I'm from Dallas, more the suburbs but you know how it is. The sprawl... the ungodly sprawl...
Mal - I seem to remember you telling us about this a year ago, so cool to see it's going forward.
Dallas can be fun, it's just so different from where you are. The shift from being in super-condensed NYC to the driving your ass all over the place will be a shock.

no doubt mg33 thats why I want to live in a bustling hood if possible since the Mrs will need the car most of the time

are there bustlings about in lower greenville?
