god that film dragged on. it almost felt like it was happening in real time and with the countless dates names and numbers flying around, i just found myself staring into the cinema screen rather than focusing on it. they used the date references at the bottom of the screen way too frequently too, you could almost imagine the screen going blank, then reapearing as though weeks have passed then the caption comes up "three seconds later", it's that bad. well i didn't like it anyway. well i did, for about 1:30, then the obsession of robert is just too much, you don't feel his need to find out who the murder really is and you find yourself as sceptical as the rest of the characters. oh well it was better than sitting at home crying with a creme donut with sprinkles over it watching titanic again...

it may not have been a good idea but fincher's whole point was to get you tired and exhausted like the characters and leave you with ambiguity and forget what the point was, which is what it felt like to be robert and some of the other characters who lost their lives to tracking the zodiac killer.
overall it wasn't the best film but was chosen by the studio for david to direct as part of his deal to direct his next film, which he only wanted to do all along.

Maybe the standard cinema seat just made me grumpy, those are real back breakers for that period of time. I expect I would have enjoyed it more at home.

I enjoyed it alot
Fincher is a master at making you feel uneasy during his films
and I loved the TransAmerican Building Sequence

yup, really liked this. Mark Ruffalo is brilliant in it. Not so sure about Gyllenhal (sp), but overall I really enjoyed it. Great to see a movie that wasn't afraid to be a long slow paced proceedural, and the cinematography/editing etc is top top class, especially the 70's look in the first half...
