I like the open face helmets but I value my lower jaw too much!
If money was no object, I'd go for something like this...

Bluetooth is a must for my next helmet. I get sick of that damn phone ringing when I'm riding

A Helmet is for protecting your head!
Number 1 rule for buying a helmet:
Dont buy a helmet just cos it looks cool, buy one that will protect your head!If you buy an open faced one you WILL regret it after the occasion of your chin hitting the ground or any other object at a significant speed.

Number 2 rule about helmets:
Polish them often, so you will always have a shiny helmet. But not is much that your helmet turns purple.
Is it childish of me to associate the word helmet with innuendo?

as one who totaled my motorcycle a couple yrs ago. I would NEVER ride without my helmet.
There was a point during the accident where I was sliding completely on my helmet. Let's just say... helmet=must
This is what I had... http://www.hjchelmets.com/clmax.…

And here I was thinking it was high time for a new Helmet album.

I'm not an authority on helmet purchasing but I can recommend that you get a life.

i ride with a basic half helmet:
on cold days just zip in that little leather neck thing and you'd be surprised at how much it helps.
i have a full face helmet for really cold days, but a big part of the reason i ride a bike is for the wind in my face, so it only gets used a couple times a year.
by the way, helmets are optional in PA, but if you've ever had to visit a friend in the hospital after a sans-helmet crash you'll never exercise that right. scary stuff.

i've always liked the look of this one:
