I'm considering getting a new 'speedy' MacBook, but to run Indesign etc...
Is it adequate if it were to have 2GB memory and a 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo?
My main concern is that there is no graphics card like with the MacBook Pro... Thoughts?
Should I, shouldn't I?

I have EXACTLY what you are proposing and CS2 in general runs REALLY slow and crappy.
I havent purchased CS3 upgrade yet - whether or not that makes it work better - I dunno.
I friend of mine runs CS1 on his intel and it runs like a dream
Food for thought?

InDesign isn't an app that really takes advantage of 3D acceleration anyway. CS2 is slow because it's running under rosetta for PPC processors. CS3 on the other hand, on the specs you mentioned should fly.
You should.

CS3 should fly...
CS2 will always be slow on Intel Macs – like cacoe said.
Do it.

Thanks for the advise, all good. Cheers.

Actually, how would CS3 run if it were just the 2.0GHz Intel and only 1GB memory.
Budget restrictions.

i have the new macbook with intel chip. indesign cs2 runs ok, but i dont do massive documents on it.
i got cs3 the other day and it seems faster, have not used it much since though as at work i use a pc.

What chip and how much memory do you have though?
- cacoe0
There would only be a minor speed difference.

oh, I mean processor wise. The extra gig would help no end. If you can still afford the extra ram, get it.
