how do you animate out of a button click in flash? as in: you click on the button and say for instance that a couple of things slide off the page then the content loads in for that section. I could create a bunch of extra animations at the end of the timeline that have the sections loading in after the slide out, but that seems like it would take more room than necessary. anybody?

you mean like an "outro" animation?

pretty much. I just dont want to create separate animations for each freakin section, otherwise it will be larger than necessary.

tween with actionscript, the timeline is dead.

it depends, but yeah you're right. still though, I would need to create separate ones for each section load in. poop!

Not really. Use AS, as he recommended. The animations on this page (with the icons moving in and out) use the same code. The remainder is just 3D spinning/growing icons. The AS moves and re-sorts.

just realized the showcases are random. if you don't see the script i'm talking about (with the 3d spinning icons) hit refresh.

i think i know what you mean.
you've got 2 buttons...whateverbutton_1.onRelease = function() {
what = "section_1"
play();
}whateverbutton_2.onRelease = function() {
what = "section_2"
play();
}you do your outro bit then at the end you can do what ever you want with the var 'what'
gotoAndStop(what);
loadMovieNum(what);etc....
